SIR – There is no doubt that Latin is on the march again, as Jeannie Cohen and Peter Jones of Friends of Classics say (Letters, November 17). My grandson’s progress at school is being aided by his grandmother’s efforts at home.
At 68, learning a new language is not easy, but I can report that her homework, as marked by her grandson, is steadily improving and both are finding the experience rewarding.
